Ureteroscopy
Ureteroscopy is a procedure for locating and removing stones in the kidney and ureter (ureteral stones).
Procedure
A doctor uses a small telescope, called a ureteroscope, to pass through the urethra and bladder and up the ureter to the stone. Then, a small device like a basket secures the smaller stones and removes them. If a stone is too large, it is broken into pieces.
After the Procedure
Within a few weeks, these smaller pieces of stones will pass through your urine.
