Dr. Florence earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and his Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Health Science Center of Brooklyn. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Brookdale Hospital. He completed a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Management at the State University of New York – Health Science Center of Brooklyn.
Dr. Florence was Director of Pain Management Services and the Pain Management Fellowship Program at the State University of New York at Health Science Center of Brooklyn (which incorporated University Hospital, Kings County Medical Center and Long Island College Hospital). Currently, he is the Associate Director of Pain Services at Coney Island Hospital and an attending physician at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.
Dr. Florence is a former president of the New York State Region of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Florence is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is Board Certified in Independent Medical Examinations by the American Board of Independent Medical examiners. He is also a licensed acupuncturist.
